FAQ

Common questions and information about our products to help you get the most out of our products.

Extensions are non-living hair and cannot repair themselves. They require gentle cleansing, controlled hydration, and surface protection — not aggressive repair strategies. Our system is designed to preserve both natural hair and extensions over time.

Lowering pH can smooth the cuticle and improve shine — but true hair preservation comes from balance, not extremes.

There is no credible evidence that acids alone rebuild broken hair bonds or restore long-term structural integrity. Lowering pH can improve how hair feels, but smoothing the surface is not the same as repairing internal damage.

Both extremes can create problems when overused. Too much protein can make hair brittle; too much acidity can mask weakness. Sustainable hair care is about balance, not chasing the newest buzzword.

Acidic products can help lower the hair’s pH, which allows the cuticle to lie flatter. This often improves shine, softness, and manageability. However, this effect is cosmetic and surface-level.

Not necessarily — but balance matters. Over-acidifying damaged hair may improve shine in the short term while masking underlying weakness. Hair needs the right balance of cleansing, hydration, and protection to stay strong over time.

Hair is not living tissue. Once hair fibers are damaged, they cannot regenerate or heal themselves. The goal of effective hair care is to preserve what remains, minimize future damage, and maintain balance.

Rather than focusing on a single mechanism, the Tresse Botanicals system is designed to keep hair in balance — clean but not stripped, hydrated but not over softened, strong but not brittle. This helps reduce breakage, dryness, and long-term thinning risk.
